'Munnabhai MBBS'

‘Love and laughter is the best medicine’ according to Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt), a jolly-hearted tapori who is also a local hero near the bylanes of Mumbai’s Dhobi Ghat where he operates with his gang.

Munnabhai takes delight in everything from booze to babes and brawls.

Life is cool for Munnabhai, except when he has to shed his tapori image and pretend to be a respected doctor in front of his highly principled father Hari Prasad Sharma (Sunil Dutt) whenever the old man decides to pay a visit

to his ‘hard working’ son in the city.

An up righteous man with strong morals, Hari Prasad believes that his son is a well-qualified doctor running a charity hospital in Mumbai. He doesn’t know the ugly reality behind his son’s finely crafted charade.

To keep his father’s illusion alive, Munnabhai changes his outlook whenever the old man pays a visit – he shaves, bathes, prunes himself and pretends to be a doctor.

But to Munnabhai’s misfortune, his cover is blown on his father’s latest visit.

One day Hari Prasad bumps into an old friend Dr. Asthana (Boman Irani) and decides to set the match between Munnabhai and Asthana’s highly qualified doctor daughter Suman (Gracy Singh). Confronted with Asthana and Suman, Munnabhai can’t keep his charade anymore.

His son’s ugly reality breaks Hari Prasad and he lays down his spotless pagdi, which has always been a symbol of clear conscience, righteousness and honor for him.

Seeing his broken father, Munnabhai decides to change himself and become a doctor for real. From the sleazy bylanes of Mumbai this tapori makes a journey into the medical world where he is confronted with a number of hilarious and absurd situations. The odds are great against Munnabhai’s becoming a real doc.

But Munnabhai is not the one to give up so easily. And don’t forget that he also has the best prescription for any malady – love, laughter and his jaado ki japphi (magical hug).
