Saif Ali Khan plays an aspiring musician named Shekhar. Shekhar and Lolita spend their childhood and adolescence together. They share their joys and sorrows. Often Shekhar plays his songs to
Lolita and she sings along with him.
Over the years they spent together, a special bond of intimacy develops between Shekhar and Lolita. Gradually it culminates into love. But this realization dawns only with the coming of another man.
Sanjay Dutt plays Girish, the supposed outsider, whose arrival puts Shekhar and Lolita's love to test.
