'Majaa'

Majaa is the forthcoming film of Tamil actor Vikram , who is savouring the super success of Anniyan . Asin is his heroine in the movie.

Majaa, scheduled for a Diwali release, is being directed by Shafi, who directed the Malayalam original Thommanum Makkalum, which featured Megastar Mammootty in the title role.

In a deft move, Vikram, who is hugely popular in Tollywood as well, is having Majaa dubbed in Telugu simultaneously.

The story revolves round a father and his two sons, who are petty thieves operating in a small town. Manivannan is the father, while Vikram and Pasupathy the sons.

Having got wearied of their lives, the trio want to reform themselves. And fired by the noble idea, they migrate to a village little realizing the trouble awaiting them there.

The village is terrorized by a local chieftain. But the trio oppose the chieftain’s dictatorial ways and in the process earn the affection and respect of the villagers.

Even the chieftain’s daughter (Asin) falls in love with hero Vikram.

The star includes among others, Vadivel, Vijayakumar, Muthukalai. An item number by Sindhu Tolani is the icing on the cake!

While music is by Vidyasagar, V T Vijayan takes care of the editing and Balu, the camera.

Majaa will clash head-on with another big Diwali release Sivakasi starring Vijay for the top honours.

It is a much-awaited clash of the young heroes in Tamil cinema, and the stage is set for a ‘crackery’ climax!
