'Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya' An entertainer from the Junior Bachchan

See the junior Bachchan woo the southern sensation Kirti Reddy in Vashu Bhagnani’s latest production—Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya.

The magical spell that many expected junior B would cast on the movie buffs with his much-hyped debut in Refugee, simply fizzled out after the movie went bust within the first week of its release. Now all his hopes are attached to Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya which serves for him as a launching pad, equally as it does for the girl from Bangalore, Kirti Reddy.

The

movie also has Sanjay Suri, Kader Khan and Johny Lever in small roles. Ismail Darbar’s lingering musical score and Sameer’s lyrics further add an extra zing to the story. Besides, the movie is also the veteran editor A Muthu’s maiden directorial attempt at the turnstiles.

Tera Jadoo.. is about Pooja (Kirti Reddy), a self-dependent career-minded girl who works as an assistant director in a well-reputed advertising agency. A modern gal, she has great dreams and aspirations for her future career. But she also has minor foibles like carelessness and unpunctuality for which her tolerant boss Mr. Oberoi (Kader Khan) excuses her time and again.

While attending her friend’s marriage in Agra she meets Kabir (Abhishek Bachchan), a local videographer, who falls head over heals for her at the very first sight. During the nuptials the duo strikes a kindred spirit and exchanges many a covert glance. But before Kabir could reveal his feelings to Pooja, she leaves Agra and is back in her busy life.

However, when she resumes her work she is badly reprimanded by her boss for overshooting her leave. To save her dwindling career, Pooja, and her friend Maggi (Johny Lever) trump up the excuse that she got engaged to Kabir in Agra. The excuse saves her job but puts her in a fix as everybody in her office, including the man of her dreams, her boss’s handsome son, Raj (Sanjay Suri), get convinced of her engagement to Kabir.

Now, finding herself in an invidious position, Pooja hatches another plot to finally win over Raj. She seeks Kabir’s help to convince her peers of her broken engagement with him. She even feigns her animosity towards Kabir. But in doing so, she only grows intimacy for him, and their bitter-sweet relationship finally turns into love.

In Refugee the audience was a bit disappointed seeing the junior Bachchan in rustic apparels. Tera Jadoo, however, has the star kid in a glamorized role. The same goes for the Bangalore girl Kirti Reddy, who looks sensational throughout the movie. Only she needs to spruce up her dialogue delivery a bit.

Although at the first glance the storyline appears to be a fresh one, at the core Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya remains a brazen pick on Jennifer Aniston starrer Picture Perfect. It is the same storyline embellished with a few songs and a bit of masala to cater to the tastes of the Indian audience.
