‘Thiruvilayadal Aarambham’, directed by Bhoopathi Pandian, marks the comeback of Dhanush as an actor.
The film has no pretensions to being a serious one. It is entertainment pure and simple.
And
the director has been able to make it an entertaining movie with simple and imaginative narration.
It is also Dhanush’s best film since Thiruda Thirudi. The son-in-law of superstar Rajnikant shows his versatility as an actor. He also excels in comedy. The timing is superb and the dialogue delivery effective.
Thiru (Dhanush) is a young man who wants to prove his worth to the world. He is happy to be in the company of his friends (Karunas, Sukumar and others).
Thiru wants to establish himself as a businessman, but his father (Mouli) and mother (Saranya) think otherwise.
Thiru finds himself out on the streets after he picks up a quarrel with his father. The tough life starts for him. He runs into Priya (Shriya) and instantly falls in love with her. Priya is the sister of businessman Guru (Prakash Raj).
Determined to win her hand, Thiru approaches Guru and manages to strike a business deal with him. The condition is : he should leave Priya alone.
How Thiru turns the tables and wins the hand of his lover is told in engrossing fashion by the director.
Music by D. Imman is enchanting and S Vaithi handles a competent camera.
Dhanush’s Thiru is excellent. Prakash Raj is his usual competent self. And heroine Shriya looks fetching in her costumes. Even the supporting cast has done an excellent job.
