Album Review
-Celebrates melody

A musical film that too from the house of ‘Vishesh Films’! What else you can expect but good music. ‘Jashnn’ starring Adhyayan and Anjana Sukhani follows the tradition of soulful melodies that have become associated with the Bhatts.

The Bhatts pay a great deal of attention and importance to music in their films and ‘Jashnn’, their next offering, is no different. The film features new-age composers Toshi Shabri and Sharib Shabri, Nouman Javaid and Sandesh Shandilya. The lyrics are penned by Kumaar, Nouman Javaid and Nilesh Mishra.

Nazrein Karam
The album starts off impressively with this track that oozes freshness with its hummable tune. Sharib and Toshi, though greenhorns in the industry, are a talented duo. Singers KK and Shreya Ghosal are perfect behind the mike and the lyrics are just right for a romantic track like this. The musicians have really worked hard for creating Kilogram Mix remix of the song. This is the track which will click with music lovers instantly.

Aaya Re
An intro number meant for Adhyayan, this pacy track sounds more like a pop number than rock. KK’s singing abilities are well tested in such tracks and he once again croons up to his standard. Singers-turned-musicians Sharib and Toshi have given a winning melody.

Dard-e-tanhai
Nouman Javaid has written, composed, as well as crooned this track. This is a kind of typical song which is present in every Bhatt film like ‘Beete Lamhen’ from ‘The Train’ or ‘Maahi’ from the just released ‘Raaz-TMC’.

Tere Bin
A mushy track in the mellifluous voice of Shreya and Shaan, this song is a treat with its simple music and romantic lyrics adding variety to the album. The song has a bit Nepali folk touch to it. You can hear this one on the repeat mode.

Main Chala
A brooding serious track of the kind not uncommon in Vishesh Films’ movies, this number’s strength is Nouman’s voice which exudes the pain expressed in the lyrics and music. The only instrument contributing to the song is the guitar, making it less jarring. Main Chala unplugged version is the same as Dard-e-tanhai with a change of lyrics. It’s a one-verse song.

Aish Karle
If the Shabris are at the helm, how come they won’t sing any song? The brothers in harmony have rendered this song with great zeal. Just ‘Aaja Aish Karle’.

Yes, this is the feel you get after hearing all the songs of the album which features a good range of scores with no use of heavy beats or techno music. The ‘Jashnn’ tracks are refreshing. The budding music director duo, Toshi and Sharib, are a good find.
