Album Review Lend your ear to some mediocre music By N K Deoshi
Aadesh Shrivastava does not figure in the list of top-ranking music directors of Bollywood. His music for the forthcoming film 'Tarkieb’ fares just above mediocrity.
A gazal number ‘Kiska Chehra’ with slow tempo and some soul stirring lyrics by poet-lyricist Nida Fazli is undoubtedly the most outstanding song in the whole package. Sung by Jagjit Singh and Alka Yagnik, this romantic duet is worth listening.
“Dupatte Ka Palloo”, can be termed as a typical Bollywood song. Though the lyrics are somewhat ambiguous, Richa Sharma sings in good spirit.
“Dil Mera Tarse” by the brother-sister duo of Shaan and Sagarika fails to make any impression on listener’s mind.
Aadesh Shrivastava has come out with quite an interesting blend of classical and modern music in the song “Tujhe Dhoondoon Main Kaise’, sung by Alka Yagnik and Vinod Rathod.
Renowned Sabri brothers sing the `qawwali' song “Kisi Ko Apna Bana Le.” As one rarely gets to hear a qawwali in the films nowadays, this number, with its pace and flow, catches the listener’s attention instantly.
Aadesh can't be faulted fore lack of variety in his music. Yet his latest package is unlikely to be remembered for a long time. He proves that slow tempo song (high on melody) is his forte.
