Producer-director Raj Kumar Kohli’s multi-starrer Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani has musical contributions from three leading Bollywood composers Sandeep Chowta, Anand-Milind and Anand Raj Anand
The album opens with Anand-Milind composition Aaja Aaja. The familiar-sounding melody of the song is lifted from “Tere Sang Pyar Mein” from Raj Kumar Kohli’s hit film from yesteryears “Nagin”, while the ‘Aaja Aaja’ bit is from a song from film “Anurodh”.
Singers Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik have particularly sung Aaja Aaja in high pitch to bring a touch of longing and desire in their voice.
Next number Chal Kudiye is a foot-savvy Bhangra composition with poor melody but uplifting dhol beats. Jaspinder Narula’s zealous singing makes the song go easy on ears.
The highlight of the album is Roop Salona Tera Dekh Ke which features seven singers including Sonu Nigam, Poornima, Harry Anand and Pamela Jain. The track, composed by Anand Raj Anand, has a lively amalgamation of various instruments. However, Sameer’s lyrics in the song are full of banality.
Another song that catches attention is Jaaneman Tu Bahut Khoob Hai sung by petite Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam.
Then follows peppy Javed Bhai So Re Le, a typical tapori song composed beautifully by Sandeep Chowta. Nitin Raikwar’s lyrics in the song are senseless and Sonu Nigam’s vocals unimpressive.
