Music of Hrithik Roshan-Preity Zinta starrer Koi Mil Gaya is different from the run-of-the-mill Bollywood tracks that normally reek of stale melodies and stolen tunes. Music director Rajesh Roshan lends his characteristic soothing touch to almost all the songs with a beautiful combination of musical sounds and notes.

The album begins with singer Chitra’s impressive crooning in the romantic title number Koi Mil Gaya. The song, beautifully written by Ibrahim Ashq, has a very melodious tune that gets on a listener’s ear instantly. Udit Narayan’s soft and gentle vocals further lend a lilting touch to this track.

Then follows the sweet teaser Idhar Gaya Main Udhar Gaya by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The song features some good orchestration of instruments and Rajesh Roshan has taken care not to experiment too much with the melody and keep the song rather simple.

The album then nudges into jolly mood with the kid's number Jadoo. Although singers Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik have tried their best to sing the track with childish buoyancy, the song still passes a listener’s attention.

Jadoo is repeated again in the album. But this version has Adnan Sami sharing the microphone with Alka. As is the trend, there is also an instrumental piece for the theme.

Indipopper Taz (of Stereo Nation) takes the mike for ‘It's magic’, a peppy track supported by some good use of techno effects by Roshan.

'En Panchiyon' is undoubtedly among the best numbers in the album. Besides Nasir Faraaz’s poetic lyrics the song stands out, thanks to some impressive rendition by Shaan and high-pitch-voiced Kavita Krishnamurthy. Baby singer Sneha also chips in a line or two in the edgeways.

After a soothing musical ride, the album ends with a typical Bollywood number Haila Haila by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. Written by Dev Kohli, it is a typical pelvic-savvy number.

In a nutshell, music of Koi Mil Gaya is hummable and easy on the ears.
