Anu Malik, Ranjit Barot and Amar Mohile combine their musical talents to churn the score of Abhishek Bachchan and Lara Dutta starrer Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost.
However, Sameer’s trite words fail to make any impression in any of the six tracks.

The album opens to an upbeat mood with Shehar Ka Jadoo which is about the fast moving life and all the wonderful things one gets to see in a city. Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik sing with full gusto and spirit this song that has the typical Anu Malik touch.

The upbeat mood takes a romantic turn with Mujhe Tune Jo Dekha which again has Sonu sharing the microphone with Alka. Despite some good singing, the song turns out to be average due to poor instrumentation by Malik. Sameer too makes a feeble attempt to convey the emotions of two people falling in love for the first time.

Then follows Saiyaan, a fast track with foot-savvy tempo. Petite singer Sunidhi
Chauhan shows her vocal skills to the hilt and moves up and down the musical octaves with the adeptness of a veteran singer. The song has been picturized on Lara Dutta in skimpy outfits.

The album also features a Holi number Koi Bheega Rang Se. The song, composed by Anu Malik is a total letdown. The beats in the track lack that characteristic Holi punch and bonhomie. The only saving grace is vocals by Alka and Sonu.

Sonu and Mahalaxmi Iyer then get together for the catchy duet Jeetenge Baazi Hum. The song is set to the melody by Ranjit Barot who creates a delectable fusion of western and oriental sounds.

The album concludes with an instrumental track, ‘The Journey’ composed by Amar Mohile. The track featuring a good range of musical instruments sums up the mood of the film’s story.
