Rivers set a new WORLD RECORD for the Longest Parachute Flight on 14 February 2002. His 45 minute canopy ride from 25,000 ft broke the old record of 40 minutes, which had eluded everyone for over 45 years.

He set a new WORLD RECORD for The Highest Bungee Jump on 5 May 2002. He bungee jumped from a hot-air balloon flying 15,200 ft above Puertollano, Spain. After falling 100 ft beneath the balloon for 5 bounces, he then cut away and opened his parachute before impact. This record bettered the previous record by an astonishing 2,550 ft.
