Shannon Esrechowitz Biography Shannon Esrechowitz (also known as Shannon Esra) has come a long way since she began her acting career at 16.
Her very first acting assignment was in the movie ‘I Dreamed of Africa’ (2000) that starred Kim Basinger and Vincent Perez in lead roles. In the movie, Shannon played a young girl named Siri.
Having already begun her acting career at a young age, Shannon then went on to study Dramatic Arts at the University of Witwatersrand where she received a special commendation for being the most outstanding student.
After taking her honorary degree, Shannon dabbled in theatre productions. She gave an award winning performance in Dorothy Ann Gould's production ‘Japes’.
From year 2005, Shannon’s acting career began to pick up. She played a small but important role opposite actor Eric Stoltz in the Sci Fi Channel's miniseries ‘The Triangle’.
But what brought her to everyone’s notice was her role as an undercover cop in the gritty psychological thriller ‘Snitch’.
In 2006, she played the romantic lead in Darrell Roodt's film ‘Number 10’. She also played an ambitious investigative journalist Kim Smollen in Tim Greene's award winning newsroom drama ‘Hard Copy’.
It was around this time Shannon got an offer to play one of the leading ladies in Nikhil Advani’s movie ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’.
