At the press meet
Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan addressed the media for the first time after Aishwarya Rai’s delivery. And we must confess, the father-son duo looked more than happy!

Amitabh Bachchan told the reporters at the press meet: “We are very happy. Goddess Lakshmi has come to our family and we have brought Lakshmi ratna home. We are happy to have a daughter. This is what Abhishek and Jaya wanted.”

Abhishek Bachchan added: “Aishwarya is also very happy but a little tired.”

Amitabh Bachchan again clarified that he did not ask the I & B Ministry to stop the media from covering Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy: “I never asked the I & B (Information and broadcast) Ministry to do it. Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) had issued the regulations. I am thankful to the media for following the regulations issued for coverage. The media kept their promise.”

Amitabh also said that the baby girl looks like Aishwarya Rai: “She looks just like her (Ash)… eyes and all. But you all know that a child’s face changes every day, but I still want to believe that she has Aishwarya’s face, but few people in house believe that there is some resemblance with Abhishek.”

Big B further dismissed rumours which suggested that a Naamkaran function will be held to decide the name of the baby: “We are still thinking on the name. It’s just a thought that it should start with A. There won’t be any Naamkaran. As soon as we decide upon a name, we’ll keep it.”

Both Abhishek and Amitabh seemed to be in a funny mood as when Amitabh was asked what film projects he is working on, he replied: “KBC is over and have no film in hand right now. Main bekaar hoon.”

Abhishek however added: “He is in full duty of his granddaughter.”

Abhishek also said: “She (the baby girl) is very sweet, obedient and very cooperative. Shant hai, zyada roti nahi hai (She is quiet and doesn’t cry much).”

Nevertheless, we could not help noticing the glow on Abhishek Bachchan’s face!
