The German Babelsberg Orchestra honoured A R Rahman and performed some of his famous songs at the NCPA, Mumbai.

And several celebs were spotted at the musical evening. Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, Ashutosh Gowarikar and Sunita Gowarikar made sure they attended the event.

After the event, Javed Akhtar said: “It was great; it was fantastic! It was exceptional!”

Simi Garewal, who was also clicked by the shutterbugs, said it was great to see foreigners play Indian music with such dedication! She added that she is really proud of A R Rahman.
