Reena and Padmini lend nostalgia to 'Refugee'

Refugee's release made the world wait and watch for just two people: Abhishekh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor.

The focus rarely shifted to the other actors in the film, especially two yesteryear actresses who made a comeback with the film.

Reena Roy and Padmini Kapila can be seen in J P Dutta's latest after a long gap. Both the actresses have done good work in the film and their return is a refreshing change.

Padmini could never make it big in the industry despite good looks and a reasonable amount of talent, sparks of which were noticed in Tumhari Kasam, a lukewarm film of the late seventies. One particular duet song in the film (Hum dono mil ke kaagaz pe dil ke...) that Padmini shared with Navin Nischol made her a household name.

Reena Roy, who had starred in Dutta's Batwara was an established actress. Her films with Jeetendra are still remembered for her performance and songs. Though Reena has lost the freshness she exuded in films like Badaltey Rishtey, Sanam Teri Kasam and Aasha, she still leaves an impact.
