In her initial years in the Bollywood, Sonali was burdened with the tag of being a flop heroin. In the industry where an actor’s/actresses talent is determined by a film’s box-office earnings, Sonali was soon dismissed by many as a jinx.
But the model-turned-actress persevered until she finally tasted success in ‘Sarfarosh’ and ‘Hum Sath Sath Hain’. One could see a mature actress in her. Her demure, quiet girl role in ‘Hum Sath Sath Hain’ to the character of a bubbly and excited chatterbox in ‘Sarfarosh’ was quite commendable.
Now, with a surprise role in Satish Kaushik’s latest directorial venture “Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai” and a handful of plum roles up her sleeves (one with Govinda in ‘Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rahta Hai’) Sonali finally seems to have come of age as an actress.
