Filhaal, though Gulzar's film, will not be directed by him. The film will have his daughter Meghna behind the camera. Though Meghna assisted her father in directing Maachis and Hu Tu Tu, this is the first time that she will direct a feature film all by herself.
The film's cast includes Gulzar's favorite Tabu, alongwith Sushmita Sen and Sanjay Suri. Dhoom's 'euphoria' Palash Sen is most likely to make his film debut with this film. The music will be given by Vishaal, who had given music to Gulzar's last two films and won a National Award for Maachis.
Meghna's good looks and a charming self led many in the industry to expect another star daughter-turned-star in the galaxy. But this star daughter was really different. No listening to orders for this girl. It is directly wielding the director's baton.
