Uday Chopra, the son of renowned filmmaker Yash Chopra, had a pretty smooth debut in Mohabbatein. Well of course, the movie was a home production.

For being a new comer Uday had the privilege of treading the boards with the doyens of tinsel-town –Big B and Shahrukh and had the camera focused on him more then his counterparts. Being the director’s brother, Uday did get a better deal. He was given more then a chance to prove his mettle and ensure his sustenance.

He surely has utilized the privileges bestowed on him. If not becoming a sensation like Hrithik then at least he has raising a few brows. The extensive training that he along with his co-stars under Barry John and ace choreographer Farha Khan seems to have paid off. In the film Uday essayed the role of the cool and sporty hunk Vicky.

His debut may have come in a platter, but to have a steadfast hold in filmdom it needs more than having the right connection. If Uday makes all the right moves, preens himself of his shortcomings and keeps himself attuned to the vagaries of the show biz, he can certainly climb a couple of rungs up the ladder to stardom. The ball is set rolling, now it’s upon Uday to live upto the reputation of his distinguished lineage.
