He has made his ‘villainous’ presence felt in tinsel-minstrel. The bad-man of Bollywood who mouths shudh Hindi is all set to play hero, host a game-show and sing a merry tune or two.
He enacted almost every possible villainous role, a sex-maniac killer in Dushman, the psychopath killer in Sangharsh and what not. Now Ashutosh Rana is shedding his baddie-skin for a hero’s role in Kewal Krishna's Pardesi Re opposite Sama Sikander of Mann fame.
Rana not only shakes a leg in the movie, but is exercising his vocal cords too. Nothing new about it. Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt and countless others crooning a film number, but Rana is the first villain in this category.
Rana has also been roped in as Zee’s Sawal Dus Crore Ka host amidst controversies. But the actor is looking forward to his new role. “This exposure will help me grow as an actor and develop my personality as well,” he said overtly.
On competing with the charismatic Amitabh Bachchan, Rana says, "He is a legend. I can't even begin to compete with him. He and I belong to very different eras. Compared to the niche Bachchan has carved for himself, I'm niche-less."
Well, Mr. Rana, you seem to be singing the right tune.
