Nepotism has long been the way for folks in tinseltown. Even if we leave aside the bevy of starkids who have thronged filmdom this year we would still be left with many who have been propped by their near and dear ones.
Now actor Atul Agnihotri—after being dismissed by the industrywallas as a wooden face—was looking for other avenues to make his place in the showbiz. That’s when he caught the itch to don the director’s mantle. And being the brother-in-law to Salman and his two Khan brothers (Sohail and Arbaaz), all Atul had to do was to pull a couple of strings.
That he did and thereby got more than he had asked for. Sohail the eldest of the Khans is producing a film for Atul, while Salman and Arbaaz have promised to play the lead in it. What’s more Salman has even decided to rope his gorgeous ladylove Aishwarya in the female lead.
On his part Atul is more than thrilled about the project. Not only has he got a good production house for his very first film but also the hottest couple of tinseltown starring in it.
Now that’s a break every debutante director dreams of and Atul got it all served on a platter. It remains to be seen if Atul lives up to everybody’s expectations and make the best use of this opportunity rather than making a hash of things. Has he not bitten more than he can chew?
