Her chat show, Rendezvous, remains as efficacious in its second innings as it was in its first. Reeling out none other than the current hunk Hrithik Roshan flanked by daddy Rakesh and mamma Pinki in the first episode of the revived show, it lost no time to at once perch itself on the echelons it used to be that only Simi can create.
That effervescence, that dignified manner of poking at others' business, that balanced degree of concern and empathy for others' opinions and feelings-- all seem to be in toto, and of course that soft smile of hers to garnish.
But Simi says Rendezvous will not have its third coming. Twenty five episodes more and it will be curtains. "This will be my last series. At the end of the series, there won't be any fascinating people left for me to interview. What's more, I want to move on to other things," Simi told a film weekly recently.
Introducing the concept of inviting the celebrities' spouses for a tête-à-tête in an all white setting, Rendezvous will remain well etched in the annals of the Indian idiot box. But since more than a dozen episodes of the last leg are yet to be churned out, it's time to enquire about who the next to rendezvous with Simi.
"Well, wait and watch! No point spilling the beans beforehand", said the fairer of the fairest.
