While Ashutosh Rana enacts scary scenes as a dreaded villain on the big screen, in real life he is a god-fearing and religious man.

While people take break from their work to carouse and party, Ashutosh seems to be having different preferences. He recently took a month-long sabbatical from acting to host a big religious camp he organized at Goregaon, Mumbai in the honor of his guru Dev Prabhakar Shastri. The purpose of it all? -- To “thank god” for his good innings in tinseltown and to “seek peace of mind”.

Without giving a damn to his image Ashutosh visited the locals in the area with the invitation to the camp and even participated actively with others in making some 20 lakh shivalings, which were later immersed in sea for religious reasons. Ashutosh even had special black soil imported for the shivalings.

What’s more Ashu’s guru conducted a big havan and there were recitals from the Holy Geeta round the clock.

Ashutosh admits the whole experience was very fulfilling. He is also hoping that things will continue to be hunky dory in Bollywood and he will have more and more good roles in his kitty.
