'Shotgun' Shatrughan Sinha is taking a short break from politics to foray into the world of theatre.
Turning a new leaf in his acting career, Shatrughan will tread the boards for "Pati, Patni aur Main", a play that explores the relationship between a husband and wife right from their juvenile romantic escapades to the differences that blight their conjugal life.
In the play Shatru plays "Main", that is the sutradhar who interacts with the characters and the audience through his witty monologues laced with humor. It is through Sinha's perspective that the director bares the complexities of the relationship between the male and female protagonists.
The play, a situational comedy, is replete with moments of comedy that tap Shatru's command over jokes and innuendoes liberally.
The 'Kallicharan' has done a variety of roles on the big screen in his heydays. "Theatre, however, is a different ballgame altogether. The spontaneity and continuity that is demanded of an actor in theatre is the real challenge that makes the world of stage more lucrative to a true lover of acting," says the compulsive talker.
"Pati Patni aur Main" will be staged in US for a month and then in Mumbai from May 13.
