Luck has favored former Lyril girl, Hrishitaa Bhatt. Although she is a newcomer in the tinsel town, the kitty of Hrishitaa is brimming with projects opposite leading Bollywood stars.

In her debut film “Asoka: The Great” Hrishitaa is playing the wife of King Asoka (Shah Rukh Khan). She concedes that her role in the film, that of a spiritually inclined Buddhist woman, was a complex one and demanded meticulous preparation. She also took several acting tips from SRK.

Another film up Hrishitaa’s sleeve is Gurudev Bhalla’s “Shararat” opposite junior Bachchan. In the film she plays an ebullient journalist.

Besides these two plum projects Hrishitaa has a cameo role in Goldie Behl’s “Bas Itna Sa Khwab hai” and a film each with Mahesh Manjrekar, Viveck Vaswani and Himanshu Dhulia.

A student of Kathak and Indian classical music, Hrishitaa had always aspired to daub the greasepaint. But never had she imagined that her career in Bollywood would take off to such a galloping start.

“Now that so many people are confiding in me, I would have to work much harder to prove my mettle,” says Hrishitaa, an alumnus of Trinity College of London. It looks like we have a star in-the-making.
