Govinda's pelvic thrusts in Mirinda's advertisement have landed him in hot soup on the charges of undermining the dignity of the Judiciary.

The complaint filed by the leader of Nationalist Congress Party Mohammad Patel urges that Govinda and the dusky actress Mita Vashishth have made a mockery of Indian Judiciary in the latest controversial Mirinda ad.

The advertisement, directed by Prahlad Kakkar for PepsiCo India shows Govinda being tried in a court for stealing a ship. While testifying in his defense Govinda opens a bottle of Mirinda and offers it to the judge (played by Mita Vashishth) and calls her "yaar".

In the wink of an eye the courtroom turns into a wild dance party with svelte lasses doing their bump grind to the tune "Zor Ka Zhatka Dheere Se Lagta." Ultimately Govinda is acquitted of the charge and the Magistrate joins him in his bonhomie on the ship that emerges after breaking through the walls of the court.

The complainants allege that this ad is blatantly defamatory to the Indian Judiciary and an offence under the section 292 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to obscenity. Mumbai's metropolitan magistrate V A Pokale has posted the hearing of the complaint to July 11, 2001.
