Ace cinematographer and Director Santosh Sivan, who happened to be in New York when the terrorists launched their aerial attacks on World Trade Center and the Pentagon, is safe.
Sivan reportedly called up his wife, Deepa, in Chennai to tell the anxious family members that he was hale and hearty.
A relieved sister of Sivan, Saritha, said in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday that her brother was taking a train to Toronto as US had suspended air services in the wake of the terrorist attacks.
Sivan was in New York on his way to Toronto to participate in the Toronto International Film Festival, where his latest film “Asoka” was scheduled to be screened.
It was while he was waiting for the flight to Toronto that the terrorists struck, upsetting Sivan’s plans.
