Beefcake hunk Rahul Dev is all set to play the freedom fighter Sukhdev in a film based on the life of martyr Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
The film, tentatively titled “Bhagat Singh” will have Bobby Deol playing the lead role and Sunny Deol playing Chandrashekhar Azad. This will be Rahul’s second film with Sunny after “Indian”.
Rahul candidly concedes that he himself “went to Sunny Deol and asked him for the role of Sukhdev”. And he didn’t have much difficulty bagging the role because of his uncanny resemblance to Sukhdev.
To get under the skin of his character Rahul is believed to have started reading whatever literature is available on the three martyrs. He is also working out the costumes of his character (particularly the stylish cap that Sukhdev used to don) along with the film’s costume designer Simple Kapadia.
