Former Miss Asia Pacific Diya Mirza is trying her hand at non-glamorous roles concerned over the rough patch her career in Bollywood passing through.
Diya's three films - 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein', 'Deewanapan' and 'Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge' - haven't really done well at the turnstiles. As a result, lissome Diya is considering trying a completely different look on the big screen.
For instance, Diya will be seen playing the non-glamorous role of a middle class girl in Mahesh Manjrekar's "Pran Jaye Par Chawl Na Jaye". Unlike her previous films, "Pran Jaye..." will have Diya appearing before the camera without make-up and designer wear.
Besides, Diya has also signed director E. Niwas' (of "Shool" fame) next film "Dum" opposite the newcomer Vivek Oberoi. This flick too will have Diya in the realistic role of a simple down-to-earth girl.
Now it remains to be seen how the audience will respond to her new look.
