Talented actress Tabu and lesser-known Shobhana have jointly won this year’s National Award for best actress.
A jury comprising of 17 judges for the 49th National Film Awards has spilt this year’s Best Actress award between Tabu for her performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Chandani Bar and Shobhana for her performance in Mitr, My Friend. Both the actresses got equal number of votes.
Tabu essayed the role of a cabaret dancer in Chandani Bar.
The best actor award went to Malayalam actor Murali for his stunning performance in Orukku Noor Per.
