With the box-office returns of Hrithik Roshan’s latest film Mujhse Dosti Karoge nose-diving in the second week, trade pundits are labeling the handsome actor as a ‘one film wonder’.
Hrithik shot to fame with his debut film Kaho Na Pyar Hai which went on to become a super-hit, turning him into a celebrity overnight.
The poor run of Mission Kashmir and Fiza was shrugged off on the plea that the films had Hrtihik playing non-glamorous, realistic roles. But it did not take long for the bitter reality to dawn when his much hyped films Yaadein and Na Tum Jaano Na Hum went bust after an initial good run.
Hrithik suffered a major blow when his Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage – which starred his Kaho Na… co-star Amisha Patel – also bit the dust at box-office, losing about 5 crores.
And now comes the disappointing run of Yash Chopra’s multi-starrer Mujhse Dosti Karoge shattering the illusions about Hrtihik being a successful star.
Six out of eight films starring Hrtihik have bombed so far. Even industry insiders like Komal Nahata and Taran Adarsh have conceded that Hrithik-mania is ebbing away.
If Hrithik continues to give flop after flop, he could end up being another Kumar Gaurav.
