It was the premiere of Devdas at the Cannes Film Festival this year that brought apni doe-eyed beauty to the attention of film fraternity worldwide. In no time offers began pouring from Hollywood. But Ash refused them as she had allotted her dates for the coming months to Bollywood films.
Ash admits that a European banner did want to sign her up for a film to be shot in August. Unfortunately prior commitments stayed her dainty hands.
The latest news is that acclaimed director Manoj Night Shyamalan has approached Ms Rai to essay an important role in his next film, presumably another thriller with paranormal tones.
Ash will be meeting Shayamlan in September to discuss her role in the film, after which the shooting dates will be finalized.
