This former Femina Miss India-Asia Pacific has remained on the sidelines ever since she jived her way into Bollywood with special appearance roles. Today, Shweta Menon is making rapid strides in Hindi cinema.
Shweta made her debut in a small and flirtatious role opposite Aamir Khan in director Inder Kumar's Ishq and followed it with another forgettable second fiddle role in Prithvi in which she also did a cabaret number.
Since then Shweta has been labeled as the stereotypical hip-shaking bimbo who was good for song and dance numbers only.
Things have changed radically for Shweta after she bagged some meaty offers. To name a few, Shweta will share considerable footage with Manisha Koirala and Yukta Mookhey in director Prakash Shaw's film on sex workers 'Market'.
She will also play an important role in Mahesh Manjrekar's Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye which stars Raveena Tandon, Namrata Shirodkar and Rinkie Khanna.
However, Shweta has not turned her back on the song and dance offers. She has just consented to shake a leg with comedian Govinda to the tunes of Sandeep Chowta in Anees Bazmi's Hum Do Humara Ek.
