Namrata Shirodkar, known for playing realistic roles on big screen, will be seen playing a rape victim in ‘Insaaf: The Justice’.
The film, being directed by Shreya Srivastava, is based on a real life incident that took place three years ago, when a Bihar minister’s son raped the wife of an IAS officer.
Sanjay Suri plays the IAS husband and Namrata his wife Kunti in the film. A good-looking woman, Kunti falls prey to the sexual lust of a minister’s son who rapes her.
Determined to get her rapist punished, Kunti fights a legal battle and in the process undergoes the trauma of being a rape victim. She is continuously hounded by press and hypocritical women rights activists who keep reminding her of the gory nightmare that brought her shame and pity.
The film also has Dino Morea playing an IPS officer appointed to investigate the case.
