Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre has landed herself in soup over a criminal case of alleged obscenity.
A non-bailable warrant has been issued against the actress because of her failure to appear before a Mumbai court in connection with this case.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ravindra Gate, who issued the warrant, took serious note of the lapse on the part of the actress.
Bendre and three others have been booked in a case of alleged obscenity. The actress allegedly posed semi-nude on the cover page of magazine Showtime in March 1998.
She, photographer Amit Ashar and dress designer Ashley Rebello were arrested by the Social Services Branch of city police on March 27, 2001.
Another accused in this case is the publisher of the magazine, Neelkanth Giri.
All the accused except Bendre were present in the court Monday.
