Aamir Khan will visit UK as patron of the festival of South Asian films (ImagineAsia), to be hosted by the British Film Institute (BFI) from October 24 to 28.
Aamir, who recently won international acclaim with his pre-independence celluloid drama Lagaan, will appear on 27 October at BFI’s National Film Theatre for an interview to The Guardian daily.
Aamir will also read extracts from the book about the making of his maiden home production Lagaan. The book, titled ‘The Spirit of Lagaan’, is written by Satyajit Bhatkal.
Director of the festival, Cary Rajinder Sawhney, regards Aamir as one of the finest actors who has the potential to make a successful transition from Bollywood to Hollywood. He stresses that Aamir’s presence in the festival as the representative of Indian films in UK is likely to be a crowd puller.
ImagineAsia is host to hundreds of film screenings, exhibitions and special events that bring the real flavor of South Asian cinema to the audiences across the UK.
