Having made his mark in front of camera, versatile actor Manoj Bajpai is turning to producing films in Bollywood.
According to the latest Bollywood buzz, Manoj is looking forward to starting his production house early next year.
The films Bajpai is planning to produce will be small budget films that won't necessarily have him in the leading roles. Manoj's endeavor will be to make sensible and meaningful cinema.
Manoj, who came to notice with his emphatic portrayal of gangster Bhiku Mhatre in Satya, says the 'well written roles seems to have dried out in Bollywood.
"I'd hate to play the conventional hero if all I've to do is wear trendy clothes and dance at beautiful locations," says the actor who was recently seen playing a psychotic hitchhiker in Rajat Mukherji-directed 'Road'.
Other Bollywood stars, who have turned to film production of late, are Sunil Shetty, Ajay Devgan, Jackie Shroff, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
