Anil Kapoor, who has not had a hit under his belt for a long time, is pinning hopes on director Indra Kumar's soon-to-be-released film Rishtey to rev up his languishing acting career.
In the past Anil and Indra Kumar have come together for the family drama Beta which set the cash registers ringing at the box office. And there are expectations that the duo's latest film Rishtey will hit the bull's eye at the box-office.
Putting behind the debacle of his much-hyped Om Jai Jagdish, Anil is optimistic that Rishtey will capture the movie buffs' interest.
The film, a story of human relationships, has Anil playing Suraj, a doting father to his son (played by child artist Master Jibraan Khan). There are two women in Suraj's life. There is Komal (played by Karisma), a violin player with whom he shares a deep bond. The other woman is tomboyish Vaijyanti (Shilpa Shetty).
According to Anil, Rishtey is a "sensitive story that explores many complexities of human relationships".
The film is likely to hit the theatres on December 6.
