Raveena Tandon has been chosen as the ambassador of the non-profit child welfare group CRY (Child Relief & You) to further the cause of the betterment of the underprivileged children.
Raveena, who had adopted two girls some years ago, says she was "deeply moved" by the organization's decision to appoint her as their ambassador. She has been working for CRY for some years now.
"One must use one's celebrity to further social causes. Working for children has always been a special pleasure for me," says the actress whose last film Wah Tera Kya Kehna could not set the cash registers ringing.
In her first appearance as the CRY ambassador Raveena will play a charity tennis match in Chennai, on January 2.
