Vivek Oberoi has reportedly clinched a crucial role in Hollywood director Roland Joffe's film titled 'The Invaders'.
Being touted as India's first global venture, 'The Invaders' is a period drama based on a tale set during the First Anglo-Indian War in 1779. The film will also have a Hollywood actor alongside the 'Road' boy.
Film's producer Jhankar is reported to have researched material for four years on the Battle of Wadgaon in the 18th century when Indian troops led by Mahadji Shinde defeated the British army.
The plot of 'The Invaders' is set around this battle.
Vivek, who is currently in news for his latest release Dum, is excited about having bagged the film. He said that it was "a privilege to work with the talented director of films like 'City of Joy' and 'The Mission'".
'The Invader' will also be made in Hindi as Aakraman.
