Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan starrer Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon is turning out to be a crowd puller across North America.
The film, directed by Sooraj Bharjatya who earlier gave hit movies like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and an average Hum Saath Saath Hain, is the 16th highest grossing film in the US.
The movie grossed a respectable amount of $672,000 in 60 theatres in the first week, raking in average revenue of about $11,200 per screen.
The highlight of the movie is Kareena’s acting and the Bharjatya’s cinematic presentation. Hrithik scores a point solely because of his charming looks and cute demeanor. Although Abhishek hams through the major portion of the second half, he still manages to come to notice in a scene or two before the end.
Besides MPKDH, Gurinder Chadha's comedy drama ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ is showing on more than 300 theatres and has so far raked in $24 million in the US.
