Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta has been approached to play a stellar role in a film based on the September 11 attacks in New York that shook the entire world.
The movie, to be directed by Tanuja Chandra, is a love story between a Muslim boy and a Sikh girl. It is set against the backdrop of September 11 terrorist attacks on America.
Tanuja has reportedly approached newcomer Farhaan Hashmi to play the male lead in the film.
Lara, who was recently seen in Andaaz, is likely to play the Sikh girl in the story. Nasseeruddin Shah is also being considered to play a pivotal role in the movie.
To be made in English, the film will be shot in a start-to-finish shooting schedule from October this year in New York. It will star Indian artists but will be made primarily for the global market.
