Questions have been raised regarding Ajay Devgan’s winning of this year’s National Award for Best Actor in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’.
After last year's controversy involving Raveena Tandon, this year’s National Film Awards have become the subject of contention again with acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan raising queries about the conduct of the awards and actor Ajay Devgan’s getting the Best Actor award.
Adoor alleges that the chairman of the awards Prakash Jha should not have taken the position, as best actor award was given to Bollywood star Ajay Devgan, who is acting in Jha's film Gangajal.
Adoor’s indication is that Devgan’s selection as the Best Actor might be biased.
