Urmila Matondakar and Manoj Bajpai’s forthcoming film Pinjar is set in the backdrop of riots during the Indo-Pak partition. The makers of Pinjar have found a novel way to use the movie to bridge the Indo-Pak divide.
A three-day program has been charted out for the film’s stars and other crewmembers to this purpose.
On day one, the music of the film will be released at Golden Temple in Amritsar.
On the second day, the entire cast of the film -- Urmila, Manoj Bajpai, Sanjay Suri, Priyanshu, Sandali Sinha, Isha Koppikar along with the makers, music director Uttam Singh and lyricist Gulzar -- will proceed to Wagah and interact with Pakistanis from across the border.
The third day is reserved for a press conference.
Directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Pinjar is based on a novel by Amrita Pritam.
