Akshaye Khanna has already earned reputation as a sensible actor in Bollywood. Having carved his own niche, the actor is now digging only gripping roles in movies.
Akshaye says he doesn’t want to take an acting offer just because he has nothing on hands. He would rather like to know his character beforehand.
“Humdrum roles don’t enthuse me anymore. What’s the use in repeating the same act in every movie? This way I will only stagnate as an actor. I seek roles that excite me from within,” says the actor.
His comic act in Priyadarshan’s Hungama was one such role. And now Akshaye is busy working in Gaurang Doshi’s Deewaar – Let’s Bring Our Heroes Home and J P Dutta’s ‘LoC’.
As to what propelled him to sign Deewar, Akshaye says: “The script sounded nice. I had never heard of such a plot and adventure films are made so few and far in between love stories.”
