Mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Czech-born stunner Yana Gupta have been voted as 'Hottest Vegetarian Alive' in a contest carried by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals.
This is the second year in a row when Bachchan has won the contest.
This year the megastar had tough competition from vegetarian sticklers like Hollywood star Richard Gere, industrialist Anil Ambani and cricketer Anil Kumble. The actor got even more votes than Indian President Abdul Kalam who came a close second in the running.
According to his own admission, Bachchan is not a vegetarian just to support a cause. He says he is “a vegetarian by choice and out of purely personal inclination.”
Another winner from the film industry was Yana Gupta who finished ahead of Liv Tyler, Shania Twain, Pamela Anderson and last year's winner, Esha Deol in the online contest. Bachchan and Yana will receive a special plaque from PETA in recognition of their compassionate lifestyles.
