She rocked Bollywood with the hot dance number Bijli in Dum and has never looked back since. Last heard, Yana Gupta was chosen over another fellow model and newcomer to play the lead role in a forthcoming film.
Director K Vijay Bhasker has signed the Czech beauty to play the lead in his upcoming film, Malliswari.
And whom did Yana beat for the role? It was none other than Katrina Kaif, whose debut film ‘Boom’ has gone bust at the box-office.
When asked, why Bhasker preferred Yana over Katrina, this is what he had to say: "Neither Yana nor Katrina had much to recommend them as far as knowledge of Hindi and understanding of Indian culture are concerned. But Yana appears comparatively more willing to be molded. She has the sex appeal of Helen, Zeenat Aman and Mumtaz all rolled into one. I am sure she will act well too".
