Diya Mirza will be seen playing a mentally challenged girl in critic-turned-filmmaker Khalid Mohammad's next movie Tehzeeb.
The movie, based on the script by Khalid himself, tells the story of a mother-daughter conflict where Urmila Matondakar plays the title role of a woman named Tehzeeb and Shabana Azmi plays her mother.
Diya Mirza plays Tehzeeb's mentally challenged sister in the movie.
Regarding her role in the film, Diya says it is an author-backed role that is much different from what she has so far been doing in Bollywood.
Diya says that working with the talented actors like "Shabani Ji and Urmila was itself a learning experience" for her.
Tehzeeb also stars Arjun Rampal, Rishi Kapoor and Diana Hayden.
Twentieth Century Fox has acquired the movie's rights. The film will hit the theatres in November.
