Raveena Tandon, who has played a number of roles in Bollywood films, is all set to take on a challenging role in real life – that of the chairperson of the Children’s Film Society of India.
Interestingly, Raveena is the youngest person to be appointed to the coveted post. The last chairperson, Sai Paranjpye, had resigned from the post on June 1 this year.
Raveena, who is the winner of the National Award for best actress for 'Daman', says that the responsibility of the chairperson of CFSI “is going to be a big challenge” for her.
“It saddens me that today's children have so little to look forward to. I’m going to take the time to take the society forward in both quantity and quality,'' said the actress.
Filmmaker A.K. Bir, who has made three films for CFSI—'Baaja', 'Nandan' and 'Labonya Preeti' and is on the executive committee of CFSI, is optimistic that Tandon will help revamping CFSI.
