Antara Mali says that playing a besotted fan of Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit in Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon required more than just the imitation of the gorgeous actress.
Madhuri is Antara’s personal icon. That made her role in MMDBCH more fun to play.
In the movie Antara plays a young girl Chutki who is obsessed with Madhuri Dixit. Chutki is a big fan of Madhuri and wants to emulate her. She doesn't just want to be an actress. She wants to be like Madhuri.
For her role, Antara says that she didn’t observe every minute movement in Madhuri’s original songs and then imitate them.
“That would've been borderline spoofing. I had to absorb her characteristics. On one level I had to play this girl Chutki and on another level I had to do Chutki imitating Madhuri Dixit. That was the most challenging part of this role,” says the actress who was last seen in Darna Mana Hai.
