The maker of ‘Bandit Queen’ and ‘Elizabeth’, Shekhar Kapoor will produce a semi-realistic movie titled Mantra, which will be directed by musician-turned-filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.
Mantra will be based on a story idea by Kapoor. However, the script for the movie will be written by Abbas Tyrewala and Vishal jointly.
Vishal and Abbas have earlier worked together in Makdee and Maqbool, both of which have won acclaim world over.
It is learnt that Shekhar was pretty impressed with Vishal’s directorial skills in Maqbool and thus decided to hand over the megaphone for Mantra to Vishal.
